Sagami Original 0.01 is the thinnest series in the Sagami Original line. The condom is made of polyurethane instead of latex: the wall averages about 0.018 mm, it has no rubber smell and passes body heat almost straight away. This pack holds a single condom — a simple way to find out how the 0.01 feels before buying a larger box, or to keep one in a wallet or travel bag.

Why "0.01" if the wall is 0.018 mm

"0.01" is the name of the series, not an exact measurement. Sagami launched it in 2013 as, in its own words, the first condom with a wall in the 0.01 mm range. The manufacturer gives an average thickness of 0.018 mm — thinner than the Sagami Original 0.02 series. According to Sagami's burst-pressure tests, the polyurethane 0.01 is about three times stronger than Sagami's own latex condoms.

When it fits

• When latex is not an option for one of the partners, or its smell bothers you.
• When you want to try the 0.01 once before buying 5 pieces.

How to use and lubricants

Use according to the manufacturer's leaflet. The rigid blister keeps the condom from being crushed and opens so that the right side faces up — no need to check the direction in the dark. Polyurethane is not damaged by oils, so the condom can be combined with water-based, silicone-based and oil-based lubricants.

Choosing the size

The 0.01 comes in two sizes: standard (55 × 170 mm) and L-Size (58 × 190 mm). Polyurethane stretches less than latex, so a few millimetres make a difference: if the standard size feels tight at the base, choose the 0.01 L-Size.

Worth knowing

The price per piece is noticeably higher than for latex condoms and higher than for the 0.02 series — that is the cost of the thinner wall. If you mainly need a latex-free condom and the thinnest wall is not essential, the Sagami Original 0.02 does the same job at a lower price.
